Café Rico is a local café, bar, and restaurant in Bogotá’s thriving gourmet neighborhood of Chapinero. This laid-back, unpretentious space is part of La Comuna, a concept store and project that promotes Colombian and Latin American design through a building where everything is for sale. It serves as a showcase for artists, artisans, designers, and their products. The expression “Qué Rico” is commonly used in Colombia and Latin America to appreciate something good or delicious—whether it’s an experience, encounter, meal, or event. We captured this spirit in our tagline “Qué Rico café Rico,” using the simplest and most recognizable symbol: a smiley face that embodies the café’s welcoming attitude. The visual identity channels this effortless and relaxed atmosphere through a simple yet energetic, vibrant, and inclusive design.
